Half Orc Ranger; Former minion of the Sorcerer King turned disciple of Death
Rhank was born and raised in the desert wastes. Although he liked the freedom of the wastes, he and his wife, Jana, decided it would be safer to raise their children in the city. Rhank agreed to work for the Sorcerer King as a tracker and enforcer in return for a place to live. Rhank aided in the capture and imprisonment of the few remaining priests. One of them, Alyria, was a disciple of Death. Against his better judgement, Rhank took a liking to her. She began teaching him about Death and how the god’s absence has made it hard for spirits to reach the underworld. She warned him that if she wasn’t allowed to continue her work, the unquiet dead would continue to rise in greater numbers and hunt the living. Rhank eventually became convinced that Alyria was right and that she needed to be released. Rhank tried to help her escape, but both of them were caught. As a punishment, Rhank was forced to watch as the Templars executed his wife Jana, his son Mord, his daughter Khia, and Alyria. As she was dying, Alyria spoke a single word to Rhank… a word that opened a channel between him and Death. Before she passed on, Rhank promised Alyria that he would carry on her work of trying to help the dead find their way to the underworld and raise the dead god.
